It’s true. Because of my years of experience as a marketing consultant helping companies grow their businesses, I can accomplish far more in 20 hours than any full time employee can accomplish in a regular 40 hour work week.
When deciding between hiring an independent contractor or an internal staff member, always keep in mind the hidden costs associated with the hiring of employees and the benefits you’ll get (or won’t get) for those costs.
Let’s talk about those hidden costs for just a moment. There are three things that jump out at me when I think of the hidden costs associated with hiring a fulltime employee. I’ll tell you what they are and then I’ll show you why each one will be nonexistent when you hire an independent contractor instead.
Overtime – Don’t forget about the laws regarding overtime. If your full time employee works more than 40 hours in a week, you’re required to pay them at least time and half for each additional hour they work – in some states the required payment is twice their normal pay per hour!
Because I’m hired on a contractual basis, there’s no such thing as you paying me for overtime. If I need to work a little more one week — no big deal. The extra time I worked one week can easily be taken off a future work week.
An Assistant - Any marketing consultant who’s good at what they do has to have an assistant. Not only are you responsible for paying your employee, but you also have to pay their assistant as well.
Not so with me. I do have an assistant – couldn’t run my consulting business without her – but you’re not responsible for paying her. I am. However, you still reap the benefits of the work I’ll be having her do for your projects (estimated 10 hours a week). Can’t beat that, can you? This is a $20K Value.
The Firing Process - This is one of those costs companies don’t usually think about in the beginning because everybody is hoping for the best and that their new employee won’t have to be fired. After all, if you thought you were going to have to fire them, you wouldn’t hire them in the first place, right?
But, what if everything doesn’t go so well? What if they just simply can’t, or won’t, deliver the results you need in order to increase your company’s bottom line. You’ve got to let them go and find someone else who can and will. Not only is the firing process lengthy – it’s expensive. What, with severance pay and possible legal costs if the person disputes your decision – you’re already looking at being out thousands of dollars.
Those worries don’t exist when you hire an independent contractor. If, for instance, you’re not happy with the work I’m doing for you, you simply thank me for my time and send me packing – no need to file paperwork with the Labor Commission, no need to worry about severance pay, and no need to worry about me suing you for wrongful termination. Those things just simply aren’t an issue when you’re working with an independent contractor.
Actually, compared with what your company’s going to get out of working with me, this investment in your business is going to be a lot less than you’d expect. Listen, my hourly rate in my consulting business at the moment is $1500 per hour. Yes, per hour.
But you don’t have to pay that much. You don’t even have to pay $1000, $700, $500 or even $400.
My hourly rate works out to a measly $375.00 per hour. That would get you less than 15 minutes of my time if you were to hire me under the current constraints of my consulting business.
If you can’t afford my hourly rate, we may be able to work something out where you pay me a salary of $60K a year plus 30% of the increased profits. This option would normally be reserved for companies that are struggling financially.
So, why lower my hourly rate so much? Simple. I don’t want price to be an issue here. I truly believe in “giving back” in the form of both knowledge and money. I believe this is the only way to reach unlimited prosperity and happiness. That’s why I’m making this offer and pricing my fees so low.
So, now the price of my services won’t be an issue. And, don’t forget, if I don’t do everything I’ve promised here, you’ll get back every penny you’ve paid me — no questions asked.
However, my accountant says I’m nuts for decreasing my fees by such a huge amount and I might eventually agree with him and change my mind about the price. If I do, the price of my services will shoot up considerably. So don’t wait. Don’t fool around.

I’m not afraid to deliver a kick in the butt every once in awhile–‘cause we all need one sometimes. That’s what a good consultant does. I won’t just sit there and say “Oh gee… that’s someone else’s problem.”
My best clients have a reputation for religiously implementing my suggestions. No company is going to implement 100% of what I suggest. I understand that. But I expect that a majority of my recommendations to be implemented–otherwise I can’t guarantee the massive profit increase I’m promising here.

I will work from my fully equipped home office. I will typically work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. However, my working hours may vary. Another reason I can be so productive is because I work when I am focused enough to work. I don’t work simply because it’s 10AM on a Tuesday. And frankly, sometimes I just work better at night, when most of the world is sleeping. But, don’t worry; I’ll always try to make myself available for at least a few hours during normal business hours.
One of the reasons I get the same amount of work (or more) done in only 20 hours a week as someone who works 40 hours a week is because I’ve developed, and consistently use, a system that guards my time.
You’ll have all of my contact information and you can use it to contact me via phone, email, fax or snail mail and you can be assured I’ll respond in a timely manner.
However, you should know that I only check my email, fax machine and mailbox once a day and I only take phone calls at specific times. This system allows me to not be interrupted. Frankly, my time management system, which limits distractions, is what enables me to be the king of productivity and complete 40 hours of work in just 20 hours.
