Service Description: Assist in developing and organizing a new marketing department or assess the effectiveness of an existing department and make recommendations for improvement.

My role as the consultant:
The following is an overview of the steps that would be taken to complete a marketing department organization in the case of a new department. Some of these same steps would be used when analyzing an existing department and considering reorganizing it:
- Interview your personal to determine what functions, in their opinion, are required within a marketing department to serve the company’s needs;
- Briefly describe each function;
- Determine the costs of performing each function with a vendor versus in-house analysis;
- Decide which functions should be in-house versus external;
- Develop a proposed organizational structure for the marketing department with a job description for each proposed function;
- For each job description, list required skills and estimate the salary for each;
- Develop a proposed operating budget for the department; and
- Present proposed department structure, organization, and costs for management review, modification if required, and approval.
Your Deliverable:
Proposed organizational structure, function description, and job description for a new marketing department.
Report of findings and recommendations for improving an existing marketing department.
